The curse launcher has some downsides, but those wont really matter if you're just starting out with modded minecraft. I'm going to recommend using the curse launcher because it's easy to use and very easy to add more mods to a pack if you're missing anything. TL DR: Do you have any modpack recommendations and tips for me? Also general “favourite modpacks/mods” –thread. But as far as I have found, that particular mod is discontinued? I am currently watching yogscast Sjins “Rule the world” series and really like the ancient warfare mod because the automatization-process works through building a lively community. It would also be great if the mods would be largely self-explanatory and I wouldn’t have to go through a bunch of wikis to play. I like medieval RPG settings (so guns and computers might overdo it for me) but I wouldn’t mind an expansion of the redstone mechanics for example. I would love something that lets the minecraft world feel like a living place, so lots of plants, animals, mobs, items, ores and incentives to explore. So I thought I might ask you folks for help. Unfortunately I have no idea how to find the one that fits me. The last time I played actively was about a year ago and I wanted to refresh my gaming experience by installing a modpack. I am a little out of the loop in regards to minecraft. (#spoiler) = neat!
